Free Magic - Card Tricks Revealed Online

Websites abound on the Internet to tell you, free of charge, magic card trick secrets. In this article, we will look at some of the top sites.

Free Magic Card Tricks from TrickMagic.com

TrickMagic.com contains a comprehensive collection of card tricks, as well as more general articles on the rules of magic tricks, with titles like "What Magic Should Be"; "The Psychology of Magic" and "Should You make Your Magic Look Easy or Hard?"

The tricks are described and the descriptions are illustrated with extensive photographs. For a few dollars, you can download online videos of the tricks for even clearer instructions.

Free Magic Card Tricks from ExpertVillage.com

Expert Village is an online video library with over 120,000 videos offering instruction in everything from Chinese dining etiquette to how to milk a nanny goat. They have an entire section on card tricks, with 15 expert videos showing how to perform the fundamentals of card tricks. The videos can be viewed individually or continuously as a playlist. They focus more on general techniques than individual tricks, though there are a couple of simple tricks illustrated.

The course, presented by professional magician Brandon Nowasky, starts with a video showing you how to select the best cards to use in magic tricks. From there, it proceeds to illustrate techniques such as the double lift, the pinky break and the false cut. The videos last about two minutes each and so the entire playlist can be viewed in half an hour or so. The videos are free to view, but many of them are preceded by commercials in order to pay the site's expenses.

Free Magic Card Tricks from Blifaloo

Blifaloo is a website featuring online games, optical illusions and other methods of "Temporary Boredom Relief", to quote the site's slogan. The tricks are divided into easy and advanced, with a separate section for sleights and flourishes. New tricks are added frequently, so it pays to check back regularly.

The tricks are described mostly in text form, with a few line illustrations. The easy tricks start with the basic card bender trick, whereby the would be magician appears to use the power of his or her mind to make a card bend without touching it. From there, the site progresses to more difficult tricks such as the "Talking Cards" trick, where you can pretend to let a deck of cards whisper in your ear which card your mark has picked. The sleights and flourishes are basic moves that can be adapted into several different tricks. The text based approach makes them a little more difficult to learn than more visual sites, but the descriptions are very clear, and with a bit of practice, you should be able to master all sorts of card tricks with which to impress your friends.
