Magicians In The Making

Attending any magician school should be an honor for anyone. To learn the art of fine deception with the hand and some speed, a lot can be changed about the way people think and see magicians at work. If everything is done slowly, guests watching will actually see and learn where the trickery of the eye is. The stage magician is no different from those standing around in malls doing card tricks; they all still had to attend magician school at some time or the other. If they didn't attend magician school then they either learnt directly from a mentor or from books on their own accord. Gone are the days too when you would see the magician in the circus, now they are mainly at kiddies parties or on the big screen like David Copperfield.

If you ever thought going to magician school would be anything like in the Harry Potter books, you are greatly mistaken. The movie allows for more than just the plain trickery learnt in magician school, it shows about black and white magic too, which has nothing to do with trickery with the hand, but about spells and willing things to happen.

As children are so innocent and naive, their biggest dream in life would be to run off to join the circus or attend magician school, as they have seen in the movies. But their tiny little bubbles are soon popped the moment they learn the truth about deception of the eye and hand. Even though this bubble may very well have been popped, a new curiosity could arise to learn to deceive people with tricks themselves.

Playing It Safe

Unfortunately not all magic is good, and some magicians could possibly use it as a method to become excellent thieves, stealing wallets and jewelry. These tricks happen so fast and you don't even know that they are happening or happened until you have been told about it, that your watch or wallet is in the so-called magician's hands. Never stand too close as you could be making yourself a prime target for theft.

As with all things, every magician out there still has to compete for the limelight and find the biggest article to make disappear or do something extra ordinary. David Copperfield himself has made it very difficult for others to challenge. But the challenge still continues between all the others that are still striving to beat his extra ordinary tricks.
