Manny And Doug

However, as the story of Magic Show DVD unfolds it becomes apparent that the owner of TOP HAT, Manny wants to get rid of the rather alcohol-addicted magician. The replacement magician is supposed to be Doug, who is unconventional and works along with his assistant Cal who actually is in love with Doug. However, the story as told in the Magic Show DVD would lose its interest if Doug reciprocated the love and so to add a twist to the tale; Doug is made to be a character that is more interested in furthering his career.

Another part of the tale as it unfolds on the magic show DVD relates to the duo of Dina and Donna, a wonderful rock act with one of the pair actually dating a well known agent called Goldfarb who comes to check out Dina and Donna’s acts. In all of this, Doug fails to pay enough attention to Cal and in fact comes to the conclusion that he (Doug) requires a new and prettier assistant.

Cal is not too amused when Doug brings in Charmin, a beauty to replace her. This in turn makes Dina and Donna become jealous and so the pair then, along with the magician, exposes the secrets of the tricks being machinated by Doug. The next act in Magic Show DVD sees Doug suddenly realizing his love for Cal and makes up with her prior to her (Cal) leaving. This means that Charmin is forced to depart to wherever she actually came from and so the story of the Magic Show DVD happily ends with romance for Doug and Cal.

The other endearing part of this Magic Show DVD is the exciting musical numbers that includes the likes of Before Your Very Eyes, A Bit of Villainy as well as Doug’s Act.
