Lionel Model Train is an all American manufacturer of toy trains and model railways. During their time, they were considered as the most popular toy trains in the US and one of the well-known all over the world. The Lionel Company was established in 1900 by Joshua Lionel Cowen more than a century now. Although they manufacture model railroad, their products were mainly marketed as toy trains.

Vintage Lionel model trains are unquestionably, the most enduring toy train brand of all times in the US. Even if you look at basements and attics, there you shall see a toy box and at least one Lionel made toy train. Many of these vintage Lionel model trains are still kept for decades and decades, that’s why they are very enticing to train collectors. They were even inducted in the 2006 US National Toy Hall of Fame as one of the old time favorites. Lionel’s mission was to design, produce, at the same time be the own distributor of the best toy trains and accessories in the world. They have obtained that by employing highly qualified workers and teamwork.

When Lionel was just starting in 1900, their first office was just in a cramped 3rd floor building in NYC. No one could ever imagine that it would turn out to be the most popular toy train manufacturer in the world. It was noted that they have sold more trains than all of their competitors combined. That probably is the reason why there is still a lot of vintage Lionel model trains in existence because almost each child had one.
Vintage Lionel model trains are very famous and are considered a favorite among collectors and enthusiast, not only because of its prolonged existence but also because of its precise detailing. Vintage Lionel model trains are also one of the most expensive collector’s items ever. The older they are the higher their bidding price gets.
Vintage Lionel model trains will continue to be in existence whether in you own basement or as a priceless collector’s item in a museum. Lionel envisions for these trains to last up until the next century.
