Creating the Best Costume Ever

When Halloween comes around once per year individuals start thinking about what types of costumes they want to wear for that year to make a splash. Halloween costumes offer a great variety of options in disguises for a person's true identity when attending these parties and going out to trick or treat. There are also options for dressing up at other times of the year, such as costume parties that are based on different themes, such as a Hollywood party or a mystery night that is based on a Humphrey Bogart film. Often these costumes are able to be made by using the materials that an individual has at home, while at other times the costumes must be bought or rented in order to create the desired effect.

Make-up and Ideas

Make-up plays a big part in costuming and there are different websites and books that give how to instructions on creating certain looks. There are also kits that are available on the market that can help to create a scar, cut, burn or other wound that goes with a particular style of dress. In addition, creating a look that allows the individual to dress like an Egyptian or a Geisha girl can also be found so that the eyes and face have the look that matches the costume. Sometimes the look can be created with the make-up that is already in the person's home, but other times specialized material must be bought to help make the look complete.

Costumes can be created based on any concept that can be imagined. There are some individuals who dress up like fruit such as a bunch of grapes or a banana. For groups of people, there are group costumes so that a bunch of bananas can be created or a banana milk shake or banana split. The most popular couple's costume is the horse where one person is the head and the other is the rear end of the horse. Today there are also costumes that can be bought that allow individuals to look like they are riding a horse or are riding piggy back on another person when in reality their legs take care of part of the costume and their torso remains as themselves, riding on the back of the horse or person.

There are other costumes that can easily be made at home like a clown costume, scarecrow or tourist. Hippy costumes are also popular and easy to make at home, as well as cowboys and Indians, gangsters and bank robbers. The imagination of the individual is the limit on creating fun costumes for any occasion.
