How to Make a Kids Mummy Costume

So you want to make your kid a great costume for Halloween but don't know where to start? If so, why not try making them a kids mummy costume? It is fun and easy to make, and your kid is going to love it. Best part of all, it will be easy to tell what they are dressed up as, because we have all had that experience where we try to make them something great and it turns out looking like something we are not really sure of.

It is much easier than say, a kids vampire costume, and will take you as little as five minutes so you can even wait and do it the night before Halloween.

Materials

So the first step to making your kids mummy costume will be to gather all the materials that you are going to need. You can make a kids mummy costume using just a roll of toilet paper and some white rags, so not only is it going to be very easy, but affordable as well. This is nice, and something that all parents can appreciate, especially considering Halloween is only for one night.

Preparation

To make the kids mummy costume, you just make sure that the rags are ripped up a bit and shredded on parts, to make it look older and more authentic. Then you start wrapping the rags around the child's body, using plastic safety clips or pins to hold it in. Just make sure that you don't use anything sharp to hold the costume together because you don't want the child to get hurt.

Now you can use some of the toilet paper and wrap it just partially over the rags, so that there are different shades of mummy paper , and it looks more real. This is a great costume, and it is really surprisingly simple. Your child is going to be the best looking mummy in town, and all his friends are going to ask him how he got such a great costume.

Keep in mind that the mummy costume is certainly easy to do but there are lots of others that you may be interested in doing as well. There are bumblebees which are very easy to make, and all you need is some yellow and black material and a couple of pipecleaners for antennas. Or maybe they want to be a cow and you can just get a white sheet and draw some polka dots on it and some udders and there you have it.
