"You May Kiss The Ring" -The Diamond Wedding Ring

It would take a really super-stunning bride to outshine some of the diamond wedding rings I've just been perving over! There's nothing quite like diamonds.

I realize that some people prefer precious stones that have a special significance to them that they would choose over diamonds. There are also those who use heirlooms, to perpetuate a family tradition. I also realize that a substantial diamond wedding ring costs more than many of us could afford. Wedding rings can be absolutely stunning without having a diamond anywhere near them. Or, perhaps your prospective bride is a streamlined athlete to whom every gram is crucial, and she prefers a plain titanium wedding ring.

"Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments. Love is not love that alters when it alteration finds…," or depends on the price tag of the wedding ring to endure. (Apologies to Billy Shakespeare.).

Right, now that we've got the true love bit out of the way, let's get back to the diamond wedding ring.

You've just won the national lottery after the fourth rollover, so money is no object. Or you've just been hit by someone who has just won the national lottery and your lawyer tells you that money is no object. You're free to choose your own diamond wedding ring in any style you desire.

Choosing Your Diamond Wedding Ring Recklessly!

You know all about the four ‘C's - cut, clarity, colour and carat. So what'll it be? One big, beautiful stone, surrounded by smaller ones of diminishing sizes and shapes; all the way around the white gold band? Perhaps a blue-white, surrounded by sapphires and small white diamonds? Clusters, patterns, or neat little rows? Twining, sparkling ribbons, or roses, or hearts? Narrow bands with stones that protrude - or wide bands with the stones set in deep?

They'll all make stunningly beautiful diamond wedding rings. But for me, with money galore, I'll go for a diamond wedding ring made from just one of those rare, magnificent, coloured diamonds that you only see on web sites or very fancy auctions!

I saw a round, brilliant, intense yellow stone of 2.55 carats, set alone, with a twin band covered in tiny white stones. My favourite diamond wedding ring, without any doubt, is a large (over two carats) intense pink stone, slightly elliptical, surrounded by a single orbit of smaller white diamonds set in a ribbon of yellow gold. The band is white gold, with just a very thin trimming of clear little sparklers along the outer edges.

I've chosen my diamond wedding ring! I think I'll just keep it – can't afford a bride now.
