Wedding Symbols 16

I am the Matron of Honor in an upcoming wedding for a dear friend of mine and I have been sorting through various wedding symbols in order to find just the right details for the bride's bridal shower. This is not such an easy task because the theme of the shower is NASCAR racing. Yes. NASCAR racing.

It is difficult enough to consider the many wedding symbols when planning a bridal shower but to add racing into the mix is mind-boggling. I have come up with some interesting ideas, though. There are a lot of things to consider but I think that I am on my way to merging fast cars with wedding symbols, well, almost.

One of the classic wedding symbols is the wedding bells. When many women think of bells, they immediately picture a little, white church and a long white gown. We can't help it. I do know that I want to consider the bells as wedding symbols but I'm not quite sure how to fit that into NASCAR racing.

I guess that I can incorporate the bells into a game. I was thinking of using die-cast cars as bridal shower favors. We could race the cars using the bells to signal the start. The wedding symbols would relate to the little races. The fastest car wins a little prize.

This may be going overboard a bit but the idea may work. I just can't imagine the bride's great grandmother getting into the racing game. Maybe I'll have her ring the bells. One thing that concerns me is making sure that no one is offended by my using the classic wedding symbols for a race.

My other NASCAR bridal shower idea is to use tea cups as party favors as well. I was thinking about putting a die-cast car into each little cup. The cars would be surrounded by five Jordan almonds. The almonds are wedding symbols representing five wishes for the bride and groom.

This way, the wedding symbols representing the five wishes can be smoothly incorporated to the idea of racing and winning the "cup" of marriage. This may be a bit of a push but it could work. I have to reconsider having the guest race their little cars, though.

Trying to decide which wedding symbols will work for a NASCAR-themed bridal shower poses quite a dilemma for the Matron of Honor but I am up to the challenge. Come to think of it, the ultimate wedding symbols are rings. Rings resemble a racetrack. Yet another idea.
