Wedding Toast

The wedding toast is an essential part any wedding reception that have been faithfully followed throughout the years. It is a small speech that usually lasts for five minutes of so and are usually done three time all through the reception – by the bride's father, the groom and the best man of the matrimonial ceremony. While most people would cringe to the thought of having to deliver a small speech in front of many people, if you are tasked to do so then you have little time for fear and shyness. Keep in mind that this event is a very special day of a loved one, you need to gather those scattered wits and come up with a decent toast that would make your grandma proud.

So when you do actually need to deliver a wedding toast? It varies depending on the type or nature of the reception. If it is a cocktail dinner or a buffet style, the main dilemma would be the fact that guest are seated far apart and wouldn't be able to hear the wedding toast. An acceptable alternative would be to deliver the wedding toast earlier instead on the rehearsal dinner, if possible. In seated meals, the father of the bride would usually give a wedding toast to commence the meal. In some cases, the caterer is asked to arranged an official champagne toast and pass on wine glasses to all the guest right before the designated person will deliver the wedding toast. There's actually to required time to give out the toast as this can occur anytime throughout the wedding reception.

If you are a spectator, how would you respond to the toast? When a person is about to make a toast, the polite thing to do is to stand up along with everyone else, expect for the newly wed couple.
