Wedding Vows

How to Create the Perfect Wedding Vows

Whether you agree or not, only few of us have the talent and skill to write a perfect wedding vow. But, this doesn't mean that there's no more chance for you to write your sets of commitments in the best possible way. The truth is that writing wedding vows can be done easily and perfectly provided that you know everything about your desires and intentions. You can write it with the help of your partner, or with someone else you think is willing enough to help you make the best vows you can imagine.

Below are simple steps in creating the perfect vows for the most special day of your life – your wedding.

#1: As a rule of thumb, it's always best to take a clean sheet of paper for you to write down all the words and phrases that you can possibly form. Start writing the words by numbering them from one to ten and use the words "I love…" as your starter. Just think for everything that you can respond to such starting line, and once you have compiled the possible responses, set the paper aside.

#2: Take another sheet of paper, but this time start writing for everything about your self and your intentions. Ask yourself what promises you wish to make to your partner on your wedding day. You can list down about five of them.

#3: Now, look at what language you use. Also consider the names you are using to address your partner. Do you love to call her or him as simply your wife or husband? What about spouse or partner for life? Pick the right name and the right words carefully and whatever you may choose, make sure that you and your partner will appreciate it.

#4: Now that you've made a decision, it's now time for you to consult your partner. Ask yourself or her/him how you want your wedding vows to be made. Do you prefer to create your own unique vows? If so, then make sure to share your words to each other, and at the end decide on something that will unite your views and commitments in life. In this way, you are creating not just a unique but a beautiful piece of union.

#5: To create the best vows together, take out the first two sheets of paper you've used before in listing your promises, wants and intentions. Share the pages to each other and see exactly which part you overlap.

#6: Now that you're working as a couple, learn which of the promises and intentions you want to prioritize. Look at which of the options is fancy and which is not. Start eliminating the words and phrases that you think is not anymore useful.

#7: Whatever words and phrases you've remained intact to complete your wedding vows, copy or transfer them to a new sheet of clean paper.

#8: Review everything you have kept. While reviewing it, think about a certain time frame you can use for your wedding vows. Usually, couples say that they want to keep their promises "for the rest of their days". Well, when making your vows, just make sure to promise your commitments forever.

#9: Start reading your wedding vows out loud. Trust no one other than your partner this time, and determine if the words sound best or not. Do you feel comfortable saying them to your partner? Are you not afraid to say it out loud in public? If you think, there are some lines that need to be polished, then do it carefully.

#10: Whatever you may have composed for your wedding vows, feel good about it. Note that your wedding vow is one of the most precious gifts you can offer to your partner, so do everything to make it perfect.
