Stainless Tea Kettle

After a hectic day doing all the routine tasks you normally do, there is nothing like spending a relaxing afternoon, sipping a cup of tea with a good book perhaps or listening to soft, lulling music. But did you know that your perfect cup of tea owes much to the type of tea kettle you are using?

Stainless tea kettle is only one type of tea kettles around. Yet, many people prefer them to all other types. Why? Here are some of the reasons:

Durability

Stainless tea kettles are widely accepted as the most durable of all tea kettle types. The reason given is that stainless steel resists corrosion, which is one of the problems of cast iron tea kettles. Compared to stainless steel, cast iron is lower grade alloy and is vulnerable to the reaction between iron and oxygen in the environment.

Resistance to Fire and Heat

Although stainless steel is a good conductor of heat, it can however resist damage due to high temperatures. This makes stainless tea kettles perfect for boiling water. Their heat retention properties allow for faster boiling and at the same time, their strength helps prevent scaling that might result if too much heat is applied.

Easy Cleaning

Stainless tea kettles are very easy to clean. Unlike cast iron tea kettles which require often complex methods for cleaning and maintenance, stainless tea kettles are relatively simple to clean and use. Since they do not rust, you do not need to take pains adopting novel cleaning measures just to get rid of the rust, such as what cast iron tea kettle users often do.

What’s more, because stainless steel has a smooth surface, it usually has no cracks or crevices for bacteria and other germs to hide in.

Aesthetic Appearance

And of course, there is charm in the bright surface of stainless tea kettles. The metallic look makes the kettle look attractive and adds to the whole modern atmosphere of your kitchen. Moreover, the bright surface is not that hard to maintain, unlike aluminum and even brass kettles. More often than not, stainless tea kettles need little more than a good wipe down to maintain its bright, attractive appearance. Stainless steel typically retains its appearance from the day you first bought the product as long as its been properly cared for.

Lightweight

Compared to other tea kettle types, stainless steel kettles are relatively lightweight. In fact, most stainless tea kettles weigh around 2.0 kg, making them easy to carry around the house or the office. However, because stainless steel is available in various sizes and thickness, there might be stainless steel kettles that are heavier than most.

Of course, for the most lightweight tea kettle type around, glass is the way to go. However, if you are not so concerned about the weight but also consider other factors, then stainless tea kettles definitely shine.
