Concrete Roofing

There have been many developed roofing products nowadays that you can choose to give your home an aesthetic look but on an economical value, or a typical-looking one but with the assurance of a long-lasting on strong framework. Concrete roofing is a common choice of homeowners these days as it offers a well-built foundation for your roofing because of the composition of the material. One may need to consider the cost or expense of using concrete roofing. It is built to last, but you may have to pay the price.

Concrete roofing is closely associated with one type of roofing materials which is concrete tiles. This is because concrete roofing is a composition of cement-based resources like concrete, fiber cement, minerals, and asphalt. Slate and composition shingles can also be other examples of concrete roofing. Concrete material is shaped and molded with high pressure to produce a thick and hardwearing tile. It is certain to last sixty years or even more after installation. Most houses in Europe are built on concrete roofing. And if you may not even know it, a lot of those homes have concrete roofs that are more than a hundred years old. That is why concrete roofing is aptly termed as the roof of a lifetime.

If you wish to invest in your own home without the worry of regular maintenance, concrete roofing works best for you. It doesn't rot, or get eaten up by insects. Moss may sprout on the tiles but this can be removed and cleaned after. Aside from being a long-lasting material, it adds to the elegance and artistic look on your home. Moreover, the insulating effect it produces resists the interior of your home from heat, thus, keeping you warm during cold seasons and mild or humid on warm weather conditions.

When you thought that concrete roofing is all but the gray looking cement that we commonly see, you got it wrong. Over the years, innovative enhancements were made to redesign and recreate newer and more elegant concrete roofing tiles. There used to be the traditional Spanish style ceramic roofing which comes in a mission S-tile type. More choices these days range from Mediterranean style to shake shingles that may either come in villa or flat tile type, and the classic cast stone & slate which appears as a flat tile type. Mission S-tile is called as such because it simply looks like the letter "S" while the villa tiles look like a double letter "S". On the other hand, flat tiles are the common flat surfaced materials that are made to look like wood shakes or slates.
