Differences In Rights

For anyone who has been around the internet for a while it should be pretty obvious that each product includes different rights. This is something that even applies to people who are not on the internet; many different pieces of software that you own could also have different rights that must all be followed in order to ensure you are using them legally. This is one of the worst problems that you can experience, but is also something that is quite simple if you understand all of the options that are presented to you.

The first option is just usage rights. This is most commonly associated with software, tangible products like a radio and so forth. Generally though, tangible products will not offer you specific rights because it is implied that once you purchase the item you own it and can do as you wish with it. However, software especially is starting to include only usage rights, which means that only the software company that developed it is permitted to sell, trade, give away or barter the product.

Give away rights are a second option, this is typically something that only applies to reports and other items that you find online. You could even find it for some actual physical items, such as games that are stamped Not For Sale that are included as part of a bundle of other games. This is also something that is provided quite frequently online if you know where to look.

Resell rights is a third option to explore. Using resell rights you are permitted to buy an item and then turn around and sell it later on for a price that you set and retain all of the profits. This would enable you to sell almost anything and is often included within digital products on the internet. However, it is very important to realize that resell rights are actually much more detailed than this. It is possible to break resell rights down into two different categories.

The first is basic resell rights. As implied, this means you have permission to buy and sell the item for the price that you select and retain 100% of the profits. However, when you purchase basic resell rights and begin selling the product you are not allowed to make any changes to it, nor or you allowed to permit someone who buys it from you to resell it.

Master resell rights are the second choice of resell rights. This again does not grant you permission to change or alter the item, but it will grant you permission to resell master resell rights to someone else. This means that you would be entitled to sell your item to someone else online, and then they could turn around and resell it as well. In the case of master resell rights you are typically free to set your own pricing and again you retain all of the profits from the sale.

A final option that is becoming extremely popular online is private label rights. This could apply to website templates, scripts, software, content, graphics, music and so forth. In private label rights, you are permitted to change and alter the content in any way you choose. Additionally you are also allowed to quickly and easily resell the master resell rights, you could choose to offer give away rights, or you could instead only offer usage rights. The choice is entirely up to you, but you are able to get the most usage out of private label rights products since you can tweak them to your exact needs and still decide how they are used.

Knowing all of the differences in the rights can be a great step towards getting exactly what you want and need online. By knowing what to look for you can ensure you get exactly what you need, without wasting money buying rights that you do not need which could be extremely expensive.
