Always check the information handling and gathering services such as creditors, employers, merchants, government agencies, and educational institutions before giving any kind of personal information. Take extra care before filling any kind of form that demands personal information.

Never give or fill the bank account numbers and credit card details in any form. Never give the details of bank account and credit card to any person on phone, and always remember to tear the credit card form before disposing it. Each month, check the billing statements and credit card reports for any fraudulent activities and report such charges immediately to the creditor. One should not click open any email that asks to change or confirm the username or password of the bank account. The credit card report should be periodically checked for any changes on personal information without the knowledge of the credit card owner. All the unused applications like loan applications should be carefully separated before throwing out.

Protect the system or personal computer with the effective password protection service and also, restrict others access to the system. Access to all other people should be given on the request basis. Install latest software and firewall to protect the system from the hackers. Keep the system with all the recent software programs and repair all the security issues at once. Protect all the customer or financial information on the personal or business website properly with authentication or encryption services. Modify all the browser setting to improve protection and delete all the Internet history and information regularly. Finally, a good solution to prevent is the awareness about identity theft.
