Instead of having something that just came from a bag, you will be able to create a truly unique water fountain with the rocks that you find.

The easiest way to find the perfect rocks is to simply roll up your pants, take off your shoes, and wade into the water. Get a handful of stones from the bottom of the river and see what you find. You will need to get about a five gallon bucket full of medium and small stones for a small sized rock garden water fountain. If you are planning on creating a larger fountain, make sure you get more large sized stones and several buckets of medium and smaller stones.

Creating The Fountain

Creating a rock garden water fountain is not as difficult as you might think. The hardest part will be finding the right equipment and hooking up the machinery in the fountain. However, even this is not so hard. All you will need to find is a fountain kit from any home improvement store. Next, stack and glue the stones around the plastic pieces of the kit until you can no longer see the plastic. Make sure that you do not cover up any important pieces, however!
