Business Of Body Languages And The Magic Movements

Sending the Messages toward Success

While gathering for business you always want to make sure you have the words you want to say down pack, while considering your gestures, including posture, manners, expressions, eyes, attire and so forth. If you go to a business meeting dressed like a slum, likely people are not going to take you serious. Since people judge and base their overall decision on their senses, it is important to reflect a positive meaning at all times.

Today we are in a world where images last and words take second place to the body languages. If you are at a business meeting before arriving you need to prepare. You should scan the environment as to where you are going to meet before meeting so that you can analyze the colors and dress accordingly.

Also, you want to note your body languages, since these languages convey messages that help the listeners understand what you are saying, empathize with your words, and monitor your attitude. If you have a negative attitude it will reflect on others around you. We all hate pushy salespeople, thus preparing can help you get in touch with your senses so that you can relay messages with the body at first glance. You will know how to control your body and words so that it will reflect a positive feeling in the environment. Thus, we will consider a few body languages and how some people relate to the signals for your convenience.

Signals
Head nodding: can give the go ahead – or you are in agreement
2-Fingers pointing at eyes: ‘watch'
Fingers or hand patting hair – frustrated
Smiling naturally – happy, friendly – interested
Crossing arms over chest – defensive – relaxed
Touch or rub viaduct of nose – doubts – itching – thinking
Jacket unbuttoned – ready to cooperate or open to communicate – smooth – vain
Thumb upward and arm extending – multi-culture miscommunication
Proper handshake – clean hands – non-sweaty – firm yet non-painful
Limping handshake – sign of insecurity or diminished self-esteem
Standing erect – confidence – good posture
Briskly walking while standing upright – confidence – in a rush
Squeezing woman's hand hard – dominating male
Slouching – sign of weakness
Palms up and open – open – attentive - sincere - honest
Palms down – trustworthy
Hands in pocket – secretive – hiding something – keeping warm
Eyes darting – deceitful – observing
Ankles locked – impatience – comfortable –
Direct eye contact – interested, listening, open, honest,
Peering downward – studying – low self-esteem – thinking
Looking left – using creative mind – honest – lying
Looking right – using critical/analytic parent side of the brain – lying – honest

The list is merely a handful of body languages to analyze. If you are communicating with another party and want to let them know you are in sync with what they are saying you can nod you head. You should always smile naturally especially if the environment includes the mood. Sometimes you can be in an environment where tension is overshadowing the point, which then you could use body gestures and words combined to break the ice.

You want to be careful looking right to left while speaking to a potential client, especially if you are salesperson, since they may think you are lying. In public speeches you will look left to center to right to right to center to left indicating that you are considering everyone at the gathering. If you are out in the sales field, try to stand up straight and keep your feet balanced, since switching the position could send the wrong message.
