Words Battling Body Language Magic
Reading the Movements of the Body's Language
The reality of it all - everyone is out now reading bodies and interpreting what the body is saying. Everyone is claiming that this gestures means that and that gesture means this, and many are venturing on their logic based a studying a handful of people. Most of the people studies are in one class of people or the other. Thus, what are we to think?
The body moves in ways that conform to the action, mind, words, and the like. If a person is walking through the door briskly while holding his posture upright, some may believe he has confidence. However, as the person starts to speak only then will a person become aware of the confidence this person may or may not hold.
A person can sit across the table from you, cross his legs and kick the feet out gradually, which may lead you to believe this person is bored. Yet, another person may cross his arms about the chest area which may make few observers believe the person is on the defense. Is this true? NO, not always, since it depends on the type of person we are addressing and how the person was raised. Many men from military or not will cross the arms about the chest, and even some women will use the same gesture as they speak. It could mean the person is cold, defensive, or relaxing.
It could also mean the person is monitoring every move around him as he speaks. Some people believe if a person sits with their legs to one side that it means the person is relaxing and open to conversation. Many men will sit in this position. Does it mean they are ready to converse? Does it mean they are relaxed? Not always. Based on the male's makeup, men often sit in this position since it is relaxing, rather than sit with their legs closed. This is could make them feel feminine by sitting with the legs closed, thus it is a natural trait men illustrate.
Some people believe that rubbing the hands together is a sign of anticipation. While some people may interpret such gesture as true, some of us realize that it is an act that falls under a religious restriction, i.e. some restrictions of religions and what they believe. Others know that it is a superstitious gesture, i.e. some customs believe that it means bad luck when the hands are rubbed together. Still, some people will rub the hands together to keep the hands warm, especially in cold weather.
The body may say something to all of us, but the words speak a lot louder than what the body could convey. The body languages down through the centuries have sent out different messages under the same gestures. It is all a bunch of confusion, thus people are trying now to determine what is right when the body speaks.
The fact is none of us can really say what the body is convey, since we would have to look at personality, culture, gender, race, ethnic, background, beliefs and more to decide.
One thing for certain is you can always tell if a person is since if you know what to look at. For example, if a man comes rushing up to you and speaking rapidly, you know you have a con artist at present. If not, then the man is likely traumatized.
If a man approaches an interview in a sluggish, slow motion it could suggest the man is internally resisting the interview, while externally he is trying to defeat his inner restraints. Who knows, but the man walking in the door sluggishly and in slow motion?
