Herbal Remedies For Acne That Work

Acne is a skin condition that commonly occurs during the time of puberty. This is caused by the hormonal changes that occur during these times as well as poor hygiene and an overproduction of sebum that has gone unchecked. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is supposed to be in a diluted form before it is applied topically. This herbal essence is among the many herbal remedies for acne that have been proven effective. In fact, tea tree oil is a very effective antiseptic, antibacterial and cleansing agent that many cosmetic and cleansing products use this in their products. Other uses for tea tree oil is foe feminine hygiene, facial wash, body wash and as a treatment for cuts and scrapes. Tea tree oil is dabbed at the acne and then left to dry. It is not recommended for internal consumption and care must be taken with this since it can do some serious nerve damage when ingested.

Basil

Basil is another of the many herbal remedies for acne that abound in the world. Just like all other herbal remedies for acne, basil has the coveted antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic properties needed to treat acne. The application f basil on the face is to start with the brewing of basil leaves (dried basil leaves) in a cup of water. The water is left to cool to tolerable warmth and then applied on the affected areas with a cotton ball. The need not be used in the application. Basil oil can also be applied to the area and let for several minutes.

Burdock

This herb is one of the most effective herbal remedies for acne as well as for treating other skin conditions. It is the root of the burdock plant that is used to make a facial wash or a tincture which is applied on the face directly with the use of a cotton ball. Burdock is also among the herbal remedies for acne that can be used in tea form to cleanse the body and act as an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial substance.
