It is a non habit forming herb, so this is good to use for people with symptoms of withdrawal from alcohol and nicotine. Valerian Root

This is one of the most pungent holistic herbs that are still be used today. It smells very strong and is known for being a plant that the drug Valium was derived from. You should not take Valerian root for more than three weeks for depression or insomnia. It is a potent herb and should be used with caution. Too much Valerian Root can disrupt your deep sleep, which will lead to tiredness even if you are getting a good amount of sleep each night.
