Italian Herbs Are Used In Virtually Every Italian Dish

If you happen to be living outside of Italy, being able to provide fresh herbs might be somewhat more difficult than you may have wanted. It is only the Italians who seem to know how to use herbs and this is abundantly evident when one visits an Italian home where every kitchen is stocked with some very appealing herbs. It would indeed be rare to find an Italian kitchen where there is no sage, rosemary or basil stocked.

Right Climatic Conditions

Italy has the right climate, and Italians have enough knowledge and are very willing to use fresh herbs which in turn drive them into growing Italian herbs, especially in the summer months. These herbs are also very appealing to look at and they only require minimal formality and fore-planning and it is also very easy to transform a site within or just outside the home and turn the space into an idyllic Italian herbs garden.

Italians are also known to include many fresh ingredients into the foods that they prepare and Italian herbs are without any doubt a central part of every Italian food preparation. Among the most popular Italian herbs you should first of all include basil that is an herb belonging to the mint family and it is also an herb that gives off a fragrance that can knock anyone over.

Oregano is another popular Italian herbs and it is usually used in pasta sauces as well as is used when preparing meats. Italian parsley is readily available at most grocery shops and it is an Italian herb that is favored by most Italians because of the rich flavor that such herbs provide.

A list of different Italian herbs would be incomplete without mentioning rosemary that is another very fragrant herb that provides outstanding flavor and its aroma too is rich. When this Italian herb is used to prepare vegetables you can be sure that the vegetables will have a taste and flavor that is unique and very delicious as well.

Italian herbs are used for cooking up different Italian dishes and the main reason for this widespread use is that the Italian herbs give the dishes an aroma and flavor that is very distinctive. Who has not tasted basil and pesto and not been overwhelmed by the taste and smells? And, bay leaves have for long been a favorite for every Roman and have been used all across Italy for many centuries.

Herbal products, especially those that were made according to Ayurvedic principals are also very popular today. One of the most loved of all Italian herbs is sage which is an herb that has soft leaves and is found growing all over the Mediterranean region.
