A Cleaner Choice: Nag Champa Incense Cones

For those who love the sensory experience of burning incense, the nag champa incense cones are a great alternative to burning incense through the traditional incense sticks. Nag champa incense cones are only about an inch high and are filled with the same materials that the nag champa incense sticks are filled with. The nag champa incense cones are made from the sandalwood tree and also from the plumeria bloom. Each of these, along with other natural resins that are added to the nag champa incense cone, add to the earthy aroma of the incense.

The nag champa incense cones are cleaner burning than the incense sticks because the probability of the ash flying off the cone is much less than with the stick. Although there are very cute and decorative incense stick holders which usually have some sort of tray that is useful in catching most of the ash that falls off the stick when it burns, the trays usually do not catch all of the ash. The reason for this is that the incense sticks burn very slowly and the ash from the stick is very light. Therefore, when a small breeze passes by the stick it will often blow the ash off where it will float onto the table, furniture or floor rather than into the tray designed to catch it.

The nag champa incense cones, in contrast, are only about an inch high and burn internally so that the ash remains in the cone formation for the most part until it is just a pile of ash at the finish. There are many different nag champa incense cone holders as well that can look decorative and also hold the incense ashes of the cones after they burn.

Other Types

There are other types of nag champa incense cones that are made with even more care than the traditional ones. These are often called the 'golden' nag champa incense cones or sticks and often cost a little more than the regular ones, which is not saying too much since the regular price for a box of cones or sticks is right around two dollars. The 'golden' nag champa cones or goloka nag champa incense is created with all natural materials so that they are healthier for the individual who burns them in their home. These types of nag champa incense cones not only contain all natural ingredients, but many of the companies that produce them will give a portion of their profits to the less fortunate children that live in India. This type of incense is also usually the type used in the temples since it is considered purer than the other types of nag champa incense.
