The Equipments You Need To Start Learning How To Become A DJ

Being the DJ means that you are responsible for keeping the party alive. If you think that you have what it takes to become a good DJ, then you may want to start learning how by first getting the equipments you need.

There are numerous advantages of having your very own DJ equipments. For starters, you will be able to practice right at the comforts of your own home. Also, by having your own equipment, you will be able to have a system that you are comfortable with, which you can bring to parties and clubs that hires you once you become a DJ.

So, just what do you need to get started?

First, you will need decks. It is important that you should have at least 2 decks where you will be able to mix songs together. Each of the deck will have a track or song playing on it. You have a few options on what type of deck you want to have.

You can choose the turntable, where you will be able to play vinyl records. You can also purchase CD decks, which plays CDs instead of vinyl records. This is far easier to operate and the CDs are much more durable than vinyl records. Lastly, you can get the DJ Controller, which are basically used with laptops where you will be able to mix songs that are already in digital format or MP3.

You will also need a mixer. This is where the decks are plugged in to. Basically, this will allow you to control how loud each deck is. Mixers will have different features. For example, it can change the sound being played, such as reducing the bass frequencies or increasing the treble frequencies.

The effects unit is another piece of equipment you will want as a DJ. Although some mixers will already have built-in effects, buying a separate effects unit will give a lot more options when it comes to giving the music you play great effects, such as adding echo, flanger, delay, auto-panning and a lot more.

Look for an effects unit which will be able to synchronize the effect to the BPM or the speed of the song. This will make the effect sound smoother and more natural.

Another piece or rather pieces of equipments you need are the monitors, such as speakers. This will help you create a perfect mix on the music you play. Connected to the back of the mixer, you will be able to hear what you are playing more clearly with the monitors and make sure that you are really providing your audience with good quality music that they can dance to.

Lastly, you will need headphones. Unless you want everybody to hear your attempts in mixing the music, you have to get a decent pair of headphones. This is also connected to the mixer and this will allow you to hear what you are doing or when you are mixing the song. It will allow you to prepare the mixing of the current song in to the next song before you actually let the crowd hear it. This will allow for a smooth transition.

These are the equipments you need in order for you to start learning how to become a good DJ and become the life and soul of the party.
