Open type stands are mainly used for supporting aquariums made of glass and are able to support 40 gallon aquariums. These types of stands have no top lid. They only have a rectangular lip to hold the glass aquarium.
The other type of aquarium stand is the closed type stands. They are quite heavy and are usually made of “pressure treated” wooden materials. The closed types of aquarium stands can support 50 gallon aquariums. They are mainly used for large aquariums. Closed types have top and bottom lids to support the bottom of the aquarium. They mainly are used for both glass and acrylic types of aquarium stands.
In choosing an aquarium stand it is recommended that you take note of the adornment of your aquarium. It is best that you complement the aquarium stand with your aquarium. It is recommended that you consider the setting of the room so that it would blend with the mood of the room.
