Singles: Times Have Changed, But The Concept Remains The Same

In the beginning, a long time ago, people used to seek out partners from the opposite sex with a view to marrying them. Once technology changed and the telephone and Internet came along, singles dating saw a sea-change that took advantage of these changes in technology.

However, despite changes in technology, singles dating as a concept has not seen that much change though now it has become normal to place advertisements online and not in a magazine or other publication. Letters have given way to emails and telephone conversations have made way for chatting and now there are even complete networks of singles where people of all shades and hues post their profiles – sometimes for free – other times for a small fee.
