Standards In Love and Relationships
If standards are low in Love and Relationships, the relationship is surely going to fail. Standards compose the grounds to adhere to rules and guidelines to make any situation in life work sufficiently. Standards are outlines setup by examples and are backed with customs and beliefs, or a standard set of rules. When two people join without standards relationships often, fail over the course of years. Thus, understanding the right level of standards to share is important, since the world has its own standards, and in most instances, those standards are out of line with true love.
Standards include respect, love, long-suffering, hope, dreams, loyalty, faithfulness, honesty, trust, worship, faith, stability and so forth. No single word can define standards, regardless of any dictionary definition. Love composes the same elements, combining them to make a solid ground to stand upon, without ceasing.
Long-suffering means that a person is willing to work hard to make a relationship work without complaining at every little problem that comes their way.
Relationships work through all weathers regardless of the level of pressure placed on the mates throughout the relationship. Of course, if one party is abusive or adulterous it makes sense to get out while you are ahead, although you love the mate. If a person commits adultery once, can you forgive the person. Does the person pose the threat of acting out on desire again when the moment presents itself?
Long-suffering is part of the standards of what one will consider. For example, some women have customs which consist of not allowing a man to teach them, believing that men are to teach them. Can a man teach you? Of course women from of old have taught sufficiently around the world are to be commended for their actions. However, can you respect a woman that believes that women are not to teach men? This is a standard, backed by custom, beliefs and upbringing.
Most people today could not respect such a woman. Today many women are liberated, while many men are submissive in nature, thus the reversal of common traditions and standards are falling to the back, while divorces are increasing.
Consider a few details when considering standards, Love and Relationships. The proper formula that makes love work through thick and thin is, man is submissive to Christ, woman submissive to husband, children submissive to parents, and husband and father is to illustrate love and to treat their mate and children as they would treat them self.
Today, love and standards follow an entirely different pattern. Few men are submissive to women, few women are rebellious to men, and children disrespect their parents and Christ is out of the picture.
Today, both men and women have to struggle to make ends meet while someone else raises the children. The term equilibrium has developed into a challenge, rather than a love. Thus, since the movement of equilibrium stepped in the picture women are becoming men and men becoming women, while children are battling to cope. We were all created equal in the eyes of God, thus the imbalance came from humankinds way of thinking.
If you let love grow it will grow through the channels intended. Many people have their own concept of how love is, thus they often force the other to adhere to their form of thinking, which is a form of standard and belief. Thus, the person may draw up a picture in their mind based on the past thoughts, theories, opinions, emotions, et cetera, conjuring up their own idea of how love is suppose to be.
When this happens, the partner becomes frustrated, since he or she has their own idea of how love works. The begin a battle, attacking each others emotions, thus finally something gives and the relationship becomes a chain of emotions waiting for the right moment or opportunity to arise that leaves excuses to abandon the relationship. The standards, trust, respect, hope, dreams, love, and other mechanisms that make love grow dies.
To learn how to make a relationship work, one must learn standards and the mechanisms that come along with the definition, learning while working together.
