Relationships at times don't work out as expected, and when this happens, the need to end the relationship may be a daunting endeavor. The big predicament of how to end a relationship that would protect the self-respect of the partner as well as one's own, suddenly become a very difficult situation.

In most cases of ended relationships, especially in marriages but depending on circumstance, one may need to keep in touch for a short time to partition possessions, or a longer point in time to sell the home, or in cases of children custody, being in contact for the rest of his or her life.

So, how to end a relationship? Before doing anything rush, make sure that you have gone through looking closely at the major reasons why you're ending the relationship, this way, when confronted with the question of why, you just don't blotter it out and forget the other person's feelings and get a slap in the face. You can take control of the situation, remember there's always a better way of saying things. Here are some tips on how to end a relationship before and during breakup:

Things to prepare before ending the relationship
First of all, make sure you arrange a place and time for the both of you to discuss things, someplace calm and private will help make the atmosphere lighter. Second, ensure that your talk will not be bothered in any way. Third, state beforehand that you want to talk about something important. Fourth, accept that there might be an expression of strong emotions from your partner, so you have to be ready to quietly listen. Fifth, consider well before that time that you as well might be upset, especially after long relationships, and be prepared with the support you may need.

During ending the relationship
Always allow moments for emotions to be spoken, but never draw out unnecessary issues. Never start a paddle even if you're upset and fuming, staying calm is always the secret to graceful exits. Explain your side as much as you can but accept the fact that nothing you possibly say will make it better for the partner, but trying and being kind yet strong, can help the situation.
