Self-Publish a Book During Retirement

Up to one third of folks state they think they "have a book inside them, waiting to come out". There's no better time to start writing than during your retirement! Self publish your own book today and enjoy the extra income tomorrow. Many of the one-person publishers operate right out of their own home.

Here are some reasons to self-publish:
Even giant publishing houses accept very few manuscripts each year.
The larger publishing companies edit manuscripts possibly in a way that may not suit you.
You will be able to market your own book and keep all of the profits.

No wonder so many authors have chosen the self-publishing route. The availability of low cost computers have made this method much easier than in past years.

The best and easiest subjects to self-publish are the "how to" books. It's always easier to write about what you know.

Once you select a topic, just start writing. Don't worry about editing – that comes later. Just getting something down on paper is a giant step. Anytime that you get writer's block, just walk away for awhile and relax. The more pressure you put on yourself, sometimes the less you actually get done! So be flexible and take time to enjoy the process.

Some writers claim that their best writing gets done at night when everyone else is sleeping. Others enjoy writing as the sun comes up. You'll soon find your best time for your creative juices to get flowing.

Now, just a decade ago, if you wanted to self-publish a book, you had to pre-purchase a case or two. Everyone who knows you would eventually get at least one copy for Christmas or birthdays. The rest usually ends up as yard sale fodder if you don't get out there and market your book!

Now, with so many print-on-demand publishers around, you can order one book at a time, and even have your book selling on Amazon and other online bookstores!

If there ever was a time to go for your writing dream, it's now. There's nothing to stop you! Go for it!
