Playing on the lake, dam or sea may be fun for those who are not always in control, but for the owner of the boat, at the marina boat rental company it would be important to know that whoever is steering the boat has their skippers’ license. It isn't as easy as just walking in and ordering pizza; you have to comply with the marina boat rental company's terms and conditions before you can launch the boat out.
 
While there are some of those marina boat rental places that actually don't give much of a hoot, if the area is quiet and secluded that worrying about licenses are their last concern, especially if they know you well. They just want to know that they are going to get their boat back in one piece after you have used it. But since it is a marina boat rental company, they should be able to provide their own qualified skipper if needed or to be the only designated person to steer the boat.
 
Some people like to use the marina boat rental companies for work functions or get together for staff to do team building expeditions on as they can cater for small to larger groups of people.  As you might have realized that there is a big difference between a marina boat rental and a power boat rental. The marina boat rental would definitely be the better option for larger amounts of people like for weddings and grand occasions too, just to add to the atmosphere of doing things differently.
 
Being A Responsible Skipper
 
Even though getting your skippers license may be relatively easy to get, you would still have to comply with the rules of the waters. You are being responsible for the lives of others when they are on your boat, and you should know where all the safety equipment is and that it is checked before setting off into the sunset for that mini cruise.

It is also important to know that for every person who climbs onto the boat that there should be a life jacket for them, so overloading is never done intentionally or without relevant reason. Communication via cell phone or satellite is just as important so that others can find you if necessary if you get lost out at sea, but more important for those going on the trip, to let others know where you are going and when you are expected back.
