Camp Seymour: A Fantastic YMCA Winter Camp

One of the most popular organizations dedicated to the improvement of sports, skills, physical well being, behavior and attitude of the children and teenagers is YMCA. And one of YMCA's most effective and enjoyable methods to accomplish this goal is to invite children and teenagers to stay in their summer camps to learn and enjoy.

However, many of these young people want to enjoy summer in some other way. To accommodate these people who still want to experience staying in camps later in the year, YMCA offers winter camp. One of the most popular YMCA winter camps is Camp Seymour.

This YMCA winter camp is part of a youth camping program that originated in 1905. The mission, vision and goals of Camp Seymour are based on YMCA values. Camp Seymour assures that campers are taken cared of in a fun and supportive environment. Accredited by the American Camp Association, Camp Seymour puts high priority on the campers' safety and well being. This accreditation also means that the camp either meets or exceeds in key areas such as staff training, health and safety, program, food quality and service and site management.

Camp Seymour is also manned by highly trained staff who are chosen for their maturity, professionalism and enthusiasm.

This YMCA winter camp operates just like a summer camp. The difference is that it operates in cold season! For many, winter is a great season. Nothing can be more fun than throwing snowballs at one another or racing around in skis or just merely enjoying the peaceful scene of snow falling on treetops.

Camp Seymour does not just cater to children or teenagers. They also cater to school groups, families and even adult groups.

Camp Seymour allows people to participate in cabin group activities and camp events. A line-up of this YMCA winter camp's activities includes boating, archery and honing craftsmanship. Those who love adventure may want to trek towards the woods and build campfires. Those who enjoy fishing may find a good catch in the salmon stream nearby. Those who stay within the premises of the camp can enjoy group games.

Other weird and fun activities include building miniature cabin forts in the dining hall or eating themed meals using strange utensils. At the end of each day, students are treated to warm meals and hot chocolate.

The facilities in this YMCA winter camp are designed to keep campers comfortable and cozy. Therefore, the bunks are soft and warm and the cabins are heated.

Truly, winter camping is fun in Camp Seymour.
