Angler fishes are deep sea dwellers, stretching over a mile down the ocean's bottom. At first glance at the live fish or even in pictures, you cannot deny that it's definitely not the type you would want to keep as a pet. Take for example, the characteristic fleshy growth on its head is used to act as a lure to bait its preys. Hence, it was aptly named after its sophisticated predatory techniques. Most of the time it lays half buried on the ocean floor, it simply twitches its antennae to attract fishes to come closer hoping to feats on its next meal only to be led directly towards the mouth of the waiting Angler fish. With thin and flexible bones, its stomach can easily accommodate even a prey that it's twice its size without much difficulty - truly an amazing feat that sets it apart from the rest of its family.
