What a Bass Angler Must Know before Fishing

There are many forms of fishing and angling, with relatively varied species of angler. A bass angler is that person that deals with fishing different species of bass. There are actually a lot of species of black bass that are considered game fishes in Northern America. These species include the largemouth bass or the Micropterus salmoides, the smallmouth bass or the Mictopterus dolomieui, the spotted bass or the Mictopterus punctatus, the Guadalupe bass or the Micropterus treculii, and other subspecies of these game fishes.

A bass angler primarily deals with fishing for bass. Black basses are very much known for its strong ability. Aside from it being fished mainly for sporting events, a bass angler can also fish the black basses recreationally. Depending upon the many species of blacc basses, along with some other minor factors like the food availability and water quality, a bass angler can find black basses from reservoirs, rivers, ponds, streams, lakes, creeks, and even ditches along the roadside. A bass angler should be aware of the basic things about the different species of black basses. For example, the largemouth bass is very much popular for its huge size and its ability to resist when it is hooked, favoring powerful yet short escapes to cover itself on submerged logs and weedbeds. On the other hand, a bass angler should also be aware that the smallmouth bass tends to jump aggressively and fight fiercely when they are hooked, to throw itself away from the hook. When served for table, these basses are usually in a fillet form and it firm and white flesh is very delicious once it is cooked. Over the years, a typical bass angler is practically adopting the "catch and release" method of angling, wherein the bass is simply returned back to the water after it has been hooked and then retrieved.

In the United States, there is a large number of bass angler and fishers that are getting more fascinated with the art of bass angling and bass fishing. Aside from the fact that it can truly be a fulfilling experience, it is also a fun and learning activity, especially if its done with your friends whom you share a common passion with.
