Striped Bass Fishing Rig: Which Is The Best?

One of the most important pieces of equipment that you are going to need to buy for your striped bass fishing adventures is a striped bass fishing rig. The striped bass fishing rig is the part that goes on the end of the fishing rod, which you hook the bait onto. There are quite a few different types of freshwater striped bass fishing rigs to choose from, and which you are sure to have success with.

You just have to make sure that you are going to choose the right striped bass fishing rig for the particular environment and time that you are going to be fishing.

Types of Rigs

So if you are looking to get a striped bass fishing rig, of course you are going to have to learn a bit about each of the different types before you are going to be able to determine which is going to be best for you.

There is the bottom rig for one, which is one of the most basic and commonly used rigs for striped bass fishing. The bottom rig is a sinker tied on to the main line followed by a swivel, leader, and a hook. Remember that you need to make the weight heavy enough to keep your bait on the bottom, hence the name bottom rig.

Then there is the floater bait rig which is also very commonly used. This floating bait rig has a floating bait that will sit half on top of the water and is great for catching fish that tend to stay near the surface of the water. If you are in very shallow waters for instance this rig would be the most sensible to use, and will offer you the most success of catching fish in those waters.

Make sure that you take a look at all the other striped bass fishing rig options as well before making any final decisions. Regardless, it is going to be wise that you keep a few varieties of fishing rig in your bait box at all times. This way no matter where you are fishing, what time of day it is, and what the water is like, you will have an appropriate rig to use.

At least it is reassuring to know that there are lots of great options out there, rigs and other bass fishing bait and equipment that you can choose from and buy for yourself.
