Dirt Bike Rental Basics

There are people out there who want to try out dirt biking once in a while. Buying a dirt bike for would be a waste of money since they will only be using dirt bikes occasionally.

Or, he may be interested in joining the sport or even buying a dirt bike for himself. However, dirt bikes are expensive and his budget does not allow the purchase of one yet.

There is a solution for this problem. He could rent a bike.

There are many organizations or companies that do business by offering dirt bike rentals. Their bikes are often well tuned, top of the line and reliable. But before renting a bike, one has to know a few things.

First, the standard fee for dirt bike rentals cost around $270 to $300 per day per rider. For safety reasons, a maximum number of two riders are usually allowed per bike. This rate usually covers a number of miles, usually around 80 to 150. It also covers the rent for the motorcycle itself, fuel, the services of a guide, GPS and satellite phone and route maps. Sometimes, certain dirt bike rental firms also offer basic snacks and drinks.

The cost would be further lowered down if the renter is booked as a group.

Preferably, riders should bring their own riding gear. However, they can rent the equipment, too for around $50 to $60. This includes helmet, goggles, knee and elbow pads, jersey pants and gloves.

Companies that offer dirt bike rentals explain to their customers regarding the insurance coverage and the important requirements before the actual transaction. Usually, the dirt bikes are insured with full comprehensive insurance. Damage caused by the renter usually results in a fine ranging from $100 to $1,500.

To rent a bike, the renter must be at least 21 years old. If the renter is less than 21 years old, the bike company will have to ask for a formal permission from the parents. No person will be allowed to rent a dirt bike without a valid driver's license.

If everything is all right, the actual transaction can now begin. Most dirt bike rentals ask for a 30 to 50% advanced of the total amount to be paid. That is why it is a good idea to plan out the trip and make the transaction before the actual date of renting. When the dirt bike is returned, the renter can pay the rest.
