In addition, there are goggles that must be worn at all times to protect the eyes from paintball shots. It is also important to wear long sleeved shirts and long pants to protect the skin from shots. Gloves and boots are also normally worn so that the area that the game is played in can be moved through comfortably and safely.

The paintball gun is another piece of equipment that is important to the game and must be taken care of appropriately for safety reasons. The guns do require cleaning on a regular basis to prevent misfiring from occurring and to ensure that the gun works properly every time that it is used. When a beginner is purchasing a gun, the cheaper versions are usually the best to start with since they do not tend to require quite as much cleaning as the more advanced, tournament style of paint guns on the market.
