Paintball Sizes

Paintball Sizes

Did you know that paintballs also vary in size? Well, some novice players are not aware of this and so they tend to use any size of paintball on their paintball guns. By doing so, they will reduce the efficiency and accuracy of their gun or marker.

You must ensure that you're using the right paintball size for the barrel. For example, a .68 caliber should use the appropriate paintball size. Paintballs vary in size and it depends on the brand and some other factors like temperature. Variations in size are slight but still, it could make a big difference. Some paintballs are .689 or .681 or may be in between. The efficiency and accuracy is definitely affected even with slight size differences.

Suppose you used a slightly bigger paintball size for your barrel; in this case, the paintballs might breakeven before you can fire them. Using small sized paintballs can also drop your shot's accuracy because more air is used to push the paintball. Aside from that, some of the air escapes from the sides of the paintball and so you need to increase the velocity. This means more air to consume.

Make sure that you purchase the right sized paintballs for your barrel. It would be best to get the same brand of paintballs guns and paintballs. If you can't find the same brand of paintball, you can always test if its fits the barrel perfectly.

When you buy the paintballs, take the barrel with you. Get one paintball and set in on the barrel's opening. If the ball rolls easily into the barrel, it's a bit small. The paintball is too big if it can't fit halfway inside the barrel's opening. A paintball which sits halfway on the barrel's opening is the right size. Try to blow it and with a slight blow, the paintball will fly out.

If after some shopping around you can't find the right sized paintballs for your barrel, there is another option open to you. You will need to purchase barrels with different sizes of bores. Some of these barrels are available in kits which are quite affordable. Shop for the barrels now especially if you have a difficult time in finding the right-sized paintballs for your paintball gun; you can do some online shopping or if you like, you can also shop in your lo cal sports or paintball stores.

You must never overlook the efficiency and accuracy of your shots. The barrel and paintballs should be purchased carefully. Don't just grab the first paintballs you see. You have to ensure that you get only the right fitting ones or you can always get barrels with different sizes. It's always handy to have a collection of different types of paintball guns and paintballs but this can be expensive to some individuals.

For those who only have one gun, get the appropriate paintballs so that you can play the games better. It was already explained earlier how the size of the paintball can affect the shot made from the paintball gun.

Next time you shop for paintballs, check the sizes carefully. Extra attention should be given especially if you plan to shop online. You must get all the details of the paintball products so that you can get the right one; store lots of paintballs because you will need them in your games.
