Pontoon Boat Rental

Things to Consider When Choosing a Pontoon Boat Rental
Pontoon boats are widely used as party boats. If you are planning a boat party but you do not own a pontoon boat, then a pontoon boat rental is the ideal solution for you. Likewise, if you and your family would like to go boating once in a while, a pontoon boat rental is better than making an actual purchase of a boat. This way, you do not have to worry about monthly loan payments or the costs of maintaining a pontoon boat.

Before you make a pontoon boat rental, make sure that a pontoon boat is indeed suitable for your trip. If there are about six up to 12 people in your group, then you can all fit on a pontoon boat. A pontoon boat offers greater safety and stability than most other personal watercrafts but it is not ideal to use in all kinds of water conditions. It is best to use a pontoon boat on small bodies of water like lakes and small rivers. Also, make sure not to sail on rough waters.

Summer is the peak season for pontoon boat rentals. Usually, people choose to rent a pontoon boat for vacations, for fishing, waterskiing or a simple relaxing cruise with family or friends. You can opt for either a half-day or full day pontoon boat rental. Many people actually rent a pontoon boat for the entire summer vacation. If the pontoon boat includes a cover, a sofa bed and other basic furniture, then staying on the boat for days would be possible. Some companies will offer boat launch and retrieval services as part of the pontoon boat rental.

When choosing a pontoon boat rental service, keep in mind that each service would offer different features so it is up to you to make sure that you choose the best. The first thing that you should consider is safety. More than having a good appearance, the boat has to be in top running condition. Check if the boat has updated charts and the necessary equipment to keep you safe on your boat trip. In addition, look for a boat that is properly equipped with a communication system just in case you find yourself in a situation where you need to call for emergency help. It is also ideal if the pontoon boat has on board a first aid kit as well as a complete tool kit so you do not have to bring these things with you.

When renting a pontoon boat, always be mindful of the rules and restrictions of the boat rental company. Some agencies do not permit skiing or towing. Bringing pets is usually not allowed, too. There may also be age restrictions but most will allow children as long as they are accompanied by parents. Also, take note of policies about reservation, deposits, cancellations, and other charges to avoid unpleasant surprises.
