Whether the trip is on a Caribbean sailing yacht or one that is headed to another location, there are certain things that the consumer needs to check out before embarking on such an exciting vacation. Each charter sailing yacht company is different and has different options and fine print that consumers need to be fully aware of before signing on the dotted line. There are some charter sailing yacht companies that offer comprehensive packages so that vacationers do not have to pay a cent more out of their pockets once they begin their journey. Other charter sailing yacht companies will only cover certain amenities while others have to be paid for out of the person's pocket. People need to be fully aware of what comes with the package so that they are not unduly surprised when on vacation at additional expenses.

Food, Activities and Travel

There are some basic questions that need to be covered when chartering a sailing yacht. One of these questions involves the food that will be provided on the trip. The vacationer needs to know if there is a chef who will be preparing the food for the trip or if they will have to do the meal planning themselves. If there is a chef, the people need to know if they can have any influence on the foods that are prepared or if the chef has the full say as to the ingredients of the different dishes. Usually there is the provision in the menu so that the chef will avoid certain items that cause health issues, and will also be glad to avoid foods that the people do not care to eat.

Another aspect of chartering the sailing yacht is to see what activities are included with the package. There are some packages that will include some of the activities that are available when in port, but others will not cover anything that is done at the different ports that are visited. Most of the charter sailing yachts will provide water activities such as snorkeling and diving, as well as tubing and some other water sports for free with the package.

Finally, travel to and from the port where the charter sailing yacht launches from is sometimes included in the package and sometimes it is not. If it is not included, the person needs to be aware than if he misses the boat for flight connection reasons, he will have to find a way to join the yacht at the next port of call or that it will take away from his travel time on the charter.
