Soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world. However few movies or films are made relating to the sport soccer. On the other hand, one particular movie about soccer has captivated the whole world. This particular movie is called “Shaolin Soccer”.

Shaolin Soccer is a story of a monk from a Shaolin Temple with outstanding kung fu skills who wanted to let the world be aware of the advantages of kung fu in their everyday life. He gets to meet by chance a retired soccer superstar who forced him to play soccer by telling him that by putting together his kung fu skills and soccer, his ambition of a world where kung fu is utilized to resolve even the smallest problems of everyday life. He then sets out to recruit his former brothers in the Shaolin Temple to make up an impregnable shaolin soccer team.

Although the concept of the movie is sounds serious, the movie itself is very hilarious. The humor of the movie is very funny. It offers a lot of funny and hilarious moments.
As the story unfolds, you will get to know the different role of each of the powers of the team’s players.

“Steel Leg” is the hero of this movie. Steel Leg’s dream is to make shaolin kung fu an essential part of life by playing the game soccer. “Iron Head” is the oldest of the shaolin brothers who can bear up large amounts of physical force and hit the soccer ball with his head creating brute amount of force. “Iron Shirt” has the ability to bear large amount of brute force in his body without giving in to pain. He has the ability to use his abdomen as a weapon in the soccer field. He also has a nerdy appearance. “Light Weight” is the heaviest and youngest of the brothers. He has the ability to make his weight as light as a feather by which allows him to jump at remarkable heights with minimum effort.

Although he claims that he has this incurable disease that makes him any food he sees, where ever it may be (in a particular scene on the movie it was on the shoe of Steel Leg). “Hooking Leg” has the ability to move his legs at great speed. His moves are similar to “break dancing”. The last shaolin soccer player is “Empty Hand”. He can catch anything that is thrown at him. He plays the goalkeeper in the game and his technique resembles Bruce Lee’s. However, he was injured in the latter part of the movie because of the awesome force of the shaolin soccer team’s adversary. He was replaced by a shy but very powerful Tai Chi master who was the love interest of “Steel Leg”.

The movie “Shaolin Soccer” is not only a big hit in Hong Kong but it was also in some parts of the world.
