Table tennis balls are made of a celluloid material, are gas-filled, and come with a matte finish. International rules specify that table tennis balls should have a diameter of 40 mm, weighing 2.7 grams, and they could either be colored orange or white. There are 40 mm, 44 mm and 54 mm varieties of table tennis balls, though, but the 40 mm variety is stapled as the international standard used in table tennis competitions.
