Volleyball Is A Sport That

Volleyball is a sport that was created over one hundred years ago, by William Mogan. Mogan decided to take aspects of all his favorite sports including baseball, tennis and basketball and combine them together to create this new and enjoyable sport. Today volleyball is played and watched by millions of people around the world. While indoor and outdoor volleyball is the same sport these are quiet different games and it's important to be aware of the rules and regulations of each before attempting to play.

One of the biggest differences is that indoor volleyball games are played on a larger sized court. Whereas the indoor courts are 29 x 59 feet outdoor spaces are only required to be 26 x 52 feet. This is mainly due to the fact that there are fewer players for the outdoor games so it would be too hard for them to get around a larger area. There is also a difference in the balls that are used, as those for outdoor games are much larger and softer.

The beach volleyball games are played outside in the sand and on warmer days, the temperature combined with the athleticism required for the game can cause players to become sweaty and overheated. On mild days it's not so bad but with a high temperature it can make the game much more challenging for players. Getting hot and sweaty can make players more tired and make the game more difficult as a result. There are a different number of players required per side for indoor volleyball games than there are for the outdoor games.

This also has a great effect on the game overall because it means that while indoor players have their own designated position, outdoor volleyball players need to be well-rounded because they will be playing a variety of positions. With a team of just two, for the outdoor games you must hone all your volleyball playing skills. That includes serving, hitting, digging and blocking. Another piece of volleyball information that proves the difference between indoor and outdoor playing is that there is a restriction on setting the ball over the net during outdoor games but not during indoor games.

It's easy to see that indoor and outdoor volleyball is the same sport but that there are some major differences between the two games. In reality these are quite different games and it's important to be aware of all the rules and regulations before getting started. Then you can begin working on your physical skills such as hitting and volleying the ball. Volleyball is a fantastic sport whether you choose to play it indoors or outdoors, as a hobby or professionally.
