College Time Management

College Time Management Is Not Difficult

When you first go to college, the entire concept can seem overwhelming. You have your class schedule, you have your books and you're ready to go but now you have to learn the campus outlay, you have to attend your classes, study hard and still have time for a social life. How on earth are you going to accomplish all that, get good grades, make friends and have fun and graduate on time? Just thinking of it is enough to send the most calm person in the world into a panic attack. Don't worry. You just need a little college time management help. Developing college time management skills involves setting priorities, creating effective study habits and making sure you put work before play. There's time in your daily routine for everything, even fun, you just have to schedule it correctly.

Your Classes

It's comical that most Freshmen schedule all morning classes. They're still used to their high school schedules and figure they'll get all their classes out of the way. However, peer pressure, bar hopping and other extracurricular activities soon cause them to miss most or all of their classes. Then, as they become Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors, they avoid morning classes like the plague having learned their lessons. Morning classes don't have to be the bane of your college experience, however, you just have to be dedicated. Schedule morning classes and attend those classes. This is great college time management. That way, you'll have the rest of the day to study and still make time for a social life. You're just going to have to force yourself to get out of bed. Go to class in you pajamas if you have to; just go to all your scheduled classes.

Studying

You need to study if you hope to make good grades. The key to effective studying is to make use of smart college time management. This is done by taking lots of notes, and reading the assigned chapters. Then, when you get back to your dorm or apartment, study those notes and even recopy them so that they become ingrained in your memory. You'll see that if you stick to this routine, you'll create perfect college time management skills and you'll get the grades you rightly deserve.

Social Time

The college experience is all about making new friends and finding out who you are. It's also about having the time of your life. You can fit social time into your college time management schedule. You just have to make sure you accomplish all you're supposed to before you go out with your friends. Have a blast but make sure you learn as well. That's what you went to college in the first place after all.
