Anchorage School District

The Anchorage School District is the governing body of all public schools in the Municipality of Anchorage. The Anchorage School District is one of the largest school district in the United States and the largest in the state of Alaska. The Anchorage School District has a diverse population of over fifty thousand students at 93 public schools. Forty-two percent of which belongs to minor ethnic groups and over one hundred twenty languages spoken within the Anchorage School District. A board member has three years to serve the district and the board members are elected each year for overlapping terms.
