One of the most desirable things to do in the Caribbean is snorkeling in Antigua. Starting from the point of the quaint fisherman's cottage clubhouse that is located at Seaton's Village, it will take you by motorboat crossing the Mercer's Creek to a 144 feet raft where instructors are waiting for any visitor to explore the rich underwater world.

Right after a brief demonstration, the guides will bring you to small uninhabited isles and inlets where schools of fish can be spotted, making it very ideal for snorkeling in Antigua. Aside from the tour, they will also teach about the delicate mangrove ecosystem. This is such a great opportunity to get in touch with Mother Earth and discover the different side of the Caribbean.

Another site not to be missed when snorkeling in Antigua is the North Sound National Park. It is an isolated Bird Sanctuary where you can also marvel over the coral reefs that is home to a diverse variety of fish, sea fans and sponges. This will surely be a photographer's delight where it promises an attractive vista during the nature trail.

As they say, this twin- sister of Barbuda is said to have "365 beaches for everyday of the year" which is also easy to say that there are hundreds of dazzling spots for snorkeling in Antigua. Here are some of those:
* Carlisle Beach
Located by the village of Old Road on the south coast of Antigua West Indies, Carlisle Beach is an expanse of fine brown sands that has clear waters.

* Crab Hill Beach
Also known as Turner's Beach, Crab Hill Beach is situated at the village of Crab Hill on the southwestern part of Antigua West Indies. It boasts of its gentle trade- winds that provide a fantastic venue for sunbathing. The nearby island of Montserrat can be seen on exceptional clear days.

* Darkwood Beach
With its crystal blue waters, Darkwood Beach will always be a favorite of all. It is in the south west coast of Antigua West Indies and is only five minutes drive south of the Jolly Harbor.

* Fort Bay Beach
If you want to often witness sports like volleyball and cricket then head to Fort Bay Beach. Is it at Fort Bay on the northwestern part of Antigua. This is also a popular spot for cruise ships that dock as it is only 5- 10 minutes away from the port of the capital city of Saint John.

* Fryes Beach
Featuring that powder white sands, Fryes Beach is situated at Fryes Point on the West Coast of Antigua. On exceptionally clear days, there can be a spectacular vista of the island of Montserrat.
