How To Travel And Stay Cheap In Aruba

If you're like most people you would love to take some time and go on vacation but you can't really afford to spend a lot of money on a tropical vacation even though some time lounging on a tropical beach in someplace like Aruba would do you a world of good. But just because you can't spend a fortune on a tropical vacation or can't afford to travel first class doesn't mean that you can't afford a vacation.

There are lots of different ways that you can travel and stay in a tropical paradise like Aruba for very cheap. Saving money on airfare is easy if you're diligent and flexible about your vacation dates and times. Lots of airlines will sell any unbooked seats on a plane at steeply discounted prices but the catch is that you won't know if the plane will have an empty seat until the day before or sometimes the hour before you need to leave. If you're not that flexible you can still save money by being flexible about your travel times.
Most planes that leave early in the morning are cheaper than flights that leave in the afternoon or the evening because more people prefer the flights that leave in the afternoon and evening. So if you are willing to go through the hassle of getting to the airport early, sometimes as early as 4 or 5 AM, you can save a lot of money on your airfare. Another benefit to taking early flights like that is that the planes are usually less crowded so you can choose what seat you want and usually there is room for all your carry on bags in the overhead bins, you can stretch out comfortably, and you will usually get some type of breakfast on the flight.

Once you have made plans to get to Aruba you'll need to find somewhere to stay that is cheap but clean and safe. If you don't make plans in advance you can call different hotels once you land and ask if they have any unsold rooms. If a room is still unsold you can get it for as much as half off if the hotel doesn't have it booked already. Unfortunately most hotels don't have very many empty rooms especially during the busy travel season. The next best bet for a cheap place to stay in Aruba is to look for a youth hostel or a rooming house.

These accommodations are generally dormitory style and they are very rustic but you can stay for as little as a few dollars per night. If that is a little too rustic for you then before you go to Aruba get on the Internet and look on travel sites and other sites like Craigslist for room or apartment swaps. Sometimes you can also find a room in a private home that the owners rent out to tourists for cheap. The main thing to remember when you are looking for a cheap place to stay when you're on vacation is that you need to stay flexible. You can find cheap places to stay but you need to be flexible.
