Great Things To Do In Atlanta

Atlanta is known for all the attractions and spectacular things to see and do, but some people forget about some of the other attractions or things to do that do not may the headlines. Go behind the scenes and visit some other great venues. The Atlanta Ballet is something of an acquired taste, but once you have seen it and experienced the mood, you will agree, it is wonderful. Atlanta is also famous for its motor sports. They have drag races on Friday nights at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and at the Road Atlanta, you can see motorcycle, go-cart and vintage car races. Two things you never hear about in the travel guides.

If you feel like a long walk, you might want to take a walking tour. You can enjoy these tours to Ansley Park, the historical downtown, Grant Park, Druid Hills or Inman Park. The Ansley Park tour takes you through a beautiful area with over two hundred and thirty acres of residential areas of Atlanta. The historical downtown area shows the history of the city and inspires you to keep walking and seeing everything in the area. The parks are beautiful anytime of the year with their beautiful homes and gardens.

The city always has a festival of some type taking place and you can experience different types of foods and customs of the south. If you want a bit of history, the Fernbank Museum of Natural History is always open to the public. You will see dinosaurs and exhibits that will show you the world at a glance. The Jimmy Carter Library and Museum also offers a day of history. The museum displays happenings during the life of the former president. The other museum that kids love to visit is the Children's Museum. Kids are allowed to touch, listen and look at all the displays in the museum.

If the weather is right, you might take the family to Six Flags in Atlanta. The rides are thrilling and the kids just love the theme park for water rides and the all-famous Batman the Ride. You might even like Skull Island or the tallest roller coaster riding over two hundred feet above the park. If you wan to camp and live in the outdoors, you will find Stone Mountain Park the place to stay. They have activities, camping, themed attractions and a sky lift that takes you up to the top of the mountain.
If these are not enough for you, you might take in a football game or a baseball game, sit in the stands, and cheer the team on to a win. Whether you visit for work or pleasure, you must try to see some of the spectacular attractions that everyone forgets about when visiting Atlanta. Depending on the time of year, you might even enjoy a festival or two. Whatever you do, do not forget to check out the Underground Atlanta or the Opera house for a great night of easy and relaxing listening.
