If you are looking for something different for the holidays, you might have to take a trip to Atlanta. Spend Memorial Day, New Year's, Valentines Day, Thanksgiving or July 4th and have the time of your life. There are many different things planned around the holidays in the city. From festivals to parades, you can spend all your holidays in the city and never miss home. The lighting of the Macy's Christmas tree is done on Thanksgiving. You could see this wonderful sight after having a traditional and historic dinner in Amicalola Falls Park. This annual event is something that the entire family will enjoy.

During the Memorial Day weekend, you will find so many different things to do and see around Atlanta. You can visit the Jazz festival for three days or salute the troops at Stone Mountain Park. The big attraction near Decatur is the huge arts festival that takes place every year on Memorial Day. They have music and dance performances and artworks to see and buy. If you like the outdoors, visit Lake Lanier for fun in the sun. Go hiking, shopping or just relax and smell the fresh outdoors. Everyone has a great time at this time of year.

If your New Year Eve plans include a trip to Atlanta, you might want a romantic place to dine and a spicy place to have a few drinks and ring in the New Year. The peach drop is the next best thing to New York's Times Square. The peach drop is located by the Underground Atlanta and has live entertainment leading up to the drop of the peach. You might want a different way to ring in the New Year by spending the evening listening to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Wherever you are in Atlanta, you will feel the excitement and join in the fun leading up the New Year.

For Valentine's Day, Atlanta has some of the most elegant and sophisticated restaurants to help you celebrate the day with the one you love. The Sun Dial on top of the Westin Hotel is a beautiful place to dine and celebrate your love. The Calloway Gardens has a romantic air about the place and has elegant accommodations with access to hiking, biking and running trials. The beach area is a nice romantic place to watch the sun go down. Sit in the gardens or lie on the beach and feel the warmth of the air gently blowing across your face.

Whether you visit for the holidays or any other time of the year, you will enjoy yourself with so many different things to do. You could walk around for days just glazing at the big city or take a walk in one of the many parks. The holidays are special, but then so is every day when you visit Atlanta to have fun. Plan a quiet vacation or a sight seeing vacation and enjoy your time in the city whether you sightsee or lay by the pool in the hotel.
