Copenhagen Denmark

Denmark's royal capital, Copenhagen dates back its beginnings to 1167, at which time Bishop Absalon structured a fortress on Slotsholmen Island. Today, the same edifice is the site of the Danish Parliament and the Christiansborg Palace. It became the royal capital of a large Scandinavian swathe in 1417, which did not only include Denmark but places of Norway and Sweden as well.

Copenhagen Denmark at present is among Europe's oldest and most magnificent capitals embossed with a royal touch. Its Danish Monarchy is also the world's oldest with its queen, Queen Margrethe II, residing right at the city's heart. The friendly yet international and continental ambiance of Copenhagen Denmark makes every visitor feel at home, where one can always discover something for each and every taste.

Food and Drink in Copenhagen Denmark is never a difficulty, as within its midst lies the warm, cozy, cultural, yet trendy eating and drinking habits of the city. One can find various restaurants having the entire world's kitchen; just don't forget to visit the authentic Danish "kro" to get a taste of Danish specialties such as pølser or hot dogs, smørrebrød or open sandwiches, and frikadeller or meatballs, and top with cold beer to perfect the combination. The city provides a wide array of pubs, restaurants, cafés, and nightclubs that can guarantee more than just one place for liking.

Nightlife in Copenhagen Denmark is as fantastic as the city itself; but one has to wait for midnight to "rock n' roll" as most nightclubs open at these hours. But no worries, one can just do what most Copenhageners do while waiting for clubs to open, while away time in bars or cafés for a little "hygge". Whether the interest is live music, or genuine, trendy, or cozy places, the city's nightlife will surely have something for every taste. A lot of places swing till dawn, just be sure to dress international if you're going to one of the fancy nightclubs; otherwise Danes are likely to dress down a little.

Fun in the city is never complete without having to visit the first thing that comes to mind when enjoyment is talked about, the Tivoli Gardens of Copenhagen Denmark. The garden is not to be missed as it is one of most renowned amusement parks in the world. Its fairy-tale village has everything for fun, from theaters to merry-go-rounds, to gourmet dining; of course also include on your list the Bakken, National Museum, Denmark's Aquarium, Copenhagen Zoo, or the New Carlsberg Glyptotek.

Copenhagen Denmark is a charming and beautiful city to visit, explore, and discover. So you might as well put it on the list of "next unforgettable vacation experience".
