North And South Cyprus Governments Have Different Seats Of Power And Structure

Cyprus, though a small country has been divided into two different states, and each state has its own set of rules, regulations, religion, and government.  The island may be small and the population may not be that many but the two states each has an organized system on its own, which is very distinct from one another.  This is because the occupants of each state are coming from two different groups, in terms of culture, religion, and practices
.
Starting in year 1974, there have been two official Cyprus governments.  These are the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus government, which governs the Northern occupants and citizens of Cyprus, and the Republic of Cyprus, which governs the Southern people of Cyprus.

It is also important to know who resides, lives, and stays in each republic so that people can better understand the set-up of the respective systems of administration.  In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Government, the citizens here are comprised of Turkish Muslims.  This Northern Cyprus government seats the three branches of the government.  Its Executive branch is composed of a President and a President-appointed Prime Minister, its Legislative branch is composed of 50 members making the Assembly, and its Judiciary branch has a Supreme court and other courts under it.  In the Republic of Cyprus government, its citizens are the Greek Cypriots.  These people also support the three branches of the government; an Executive branch with its President and Vice-President, a Legislative branch with its 80-member House of Representatives, and its Judiciary branch with its 13-member Supreme Court and other lower courts in the area.

Though it is a one island-country, it is very important that visitors must know the degree of separation that holds true in Cyprus.  The two Cyprus governments have separate and independent powers from each other.  They follow different official or government holidays.  They have their own respective policies that must be strictly followed.  There may be some instances in which a certain policy applies to people in North Cyprus but it does not necessarily apply to South Cyprus.  For example, South Cyprus Government issues a different set of entry or visa requirements, than North Cyprus.

One must be careful to follow the set of policies being implemented in the respective areas of the two Cyprus governments.  As a visitor to the country, you must be well aware of the differences so you wouldn't be surprised when you arrive at the place.
