Plantation Island Fiji - A Vacation To Remember

Plantation Island Fiji or Plantation Island Resort lies on the Malolo LaiLai Island, which belongs to Fiji's Mamanuca Group of islands. Malolo LaiLai is a freehold estate, which means the owner owns both the land and the properties built there. It was previously a copra plantation operated by the Wong Ket family but in 1966, three business partners bought the island and developed it as a tourist destination.

It is located 10 miles to the west of Nadi International Airport and just a 10-minute flight from the airport. Plantation Island Resort features about twenty acres of tropical gardens and coconut palm trees, seven kilometers of white sand beaches and a beachfront lagoon.

Plantation Island Fiji offers different types of accommodations to suit individual tastes of guests. There are bure-inspired rooms facing the beach or the garden. The bure is the traditional Fijian dwelling but these bures have sophisticated designs and built for utmost comfort. The Beachfront Bure and the studio type Bure can accommodate four adults and the Bedroom Garden Bure is good for up to eight adults.

Hotel-style rooms can also be facing the beach or garden and can accommodate four adults. Room rates are for twin occupancy per night. Accommodation is free for two children under 16 years old if they are sharing with their parents as well as babies less than two years old stay.

There are plenty of things to occupy your days in the Plantation Island Fiji. Guests can enjoy various sports activities. There is a 9-hole golf course, tennis court, volleyball court, rugby oval, running track, and other sports facilities. Guests can also enjoy water activities besides swimming such as snorkeling, fishing, canoeing, banana rides, fishing, and scuba diving, among others. Plantation Island Fiji also offers surfing trips, a dolphin-watching cruise, moonlight and sunset cruises, island hopping, and other day trips.

In addition, Plantation Island Fiji has many activities for children's entertainment such as fish feeding, beach games, crab hunting, canoe races, water polo, and many more. There are childcare facilities available and children can join the resort's Coconut Club.
