Greece Culture

It’s ironic. But Greece has several beaches that condone nudism, and yet it traditions are highly influenced by its religion.

This is not surprising. Greece culture is greatly diversified because if its location, at a crossroads between the East and West, as well as the numerous roles played by its people for several years.

Despite any bad publicity about its past, Greeks speak about the Greece culture with their heads held high. Each one of them believes that is in their culture that they find their identities.

The Greece culture consists mainly of the Greek traditions, music, religion, food and wines, and their language. These are also the very reasons why people choose Greece as their travel destination.

The Greek’s devotion to their religion can be evidently seen in their festivals. Greece culture also dictates them to adhere to a lot of superstitious beliefs and rituals. Though Greeks have varied beliefs according to the different islands, they are all equally very solemn in their faith. One common tradition includes owing their names to a particular saint that celebrates his feast day on the same day of the person’s birthday. Another strong part of Greece culture is engagement. Up to this date, it is customary for men and women to be engaged before marrying. Men are supposed to ask the hand of the girls for marriage from their fathers.

Music dictates a big chunk of Greece culture, and their union dates as far back as ancient Greece. No doubt that there are a lot of talented musical artists that made it big in the local and international scenes.

Much has been said about the religious nature of the Greeks. This very obvious Greece culture is not entirely in contrast to the time of the ancient Greece. While the Greeks used to have a different kind of religion and forms of worship, they remain to be as devout and as attached to their beliefs.

Food and wines have great influence on Greece culture. They have specialty dishes that can be found almost anywhere in the country. Some dishes though, although basically the same, are cooked in a different way in other parts of Greece. When visiting Greece, their food will not look and sound foreign to you, even if you don’t speak their language. Restaurants will gladly welcome you to their kitchens to let you see what dishes are made of and how they’re prepared.

Greece culture is strongly associated with the country’s past. But over all, Greeks are the friendly and outgoing type. They are appreciated for their hospitable nature and their casual regard to the daily pressures of life. A trait sometimes considered as an unfavorable work manner.
